How to use WhatsApp in Your local Indian languages

WhatsApp is one of the biggest platform for communication around the globe. In India, just there are in excess of 200 million users out of the aggregate billion or more users, which makes India as the greatest market for Facebook-owned Communication application “WhatsApp”.

The nation’s most loved chat application supports up to 10 Indian local languages. These include Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada and Malayalam.

Here are the steps to follow “How to use WhatsApp in Your local Indian languages”:

To change the language inside the application, this is what you have to do:

  1. Open the App
  2. Tap on the menu button
  3. Go to Settings
  4. Go to Chat and open App Language
  5. Choose the language you prefer from the Popup that shows up.

Depending on your phone’s capabilities, the list may include English, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada and Malayalam. Select the language of your choosing.

However, you must know that WhatsApp follows the language of the phone. For example, if you change the phone’s language to Hindi, then automatically WhatsApp text will appear in Hindi.

You can change the default language of your handset by following the below procedure which is bit different for Android and iOS users.

Android Users

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap on ‘Languages and Input’
  3. Tap on Languages
  4. Choose the language you want and tap on it
  5. Now, open WhatsApp and you will find all text appearing in that language in the app.

iOS Users

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap on General
  3. Tap on Language & Region
  4. Tap on iPhone Language
  5. Choose the language you want and tap on it.
  6. Now, open WhatsApp and find all text appearing in that language in the app.

Recently, the news came that WhatsApp Security flaw could let anyone enter group chats despite end-to-end encryption. WhatsApp must be working on it to fix the issue as it is one of the most used messaging app.
